I create for Dulaan!

I finished 3 more hats this weekend for Dulaan.

The one in front is Brown Sheep superwash wool with my hand-dyed lace mohair interspersed. This hat was causing me a lot of grief. I made a mistake and had to purl the entire hat (that includes p2tog for the decreases). Looks fine in the finishing though.

The pinwheel hats are a mix of yarns. One is two different Lion Brand yarns (blue and grey, so very adult feeling). The other is some leftover wool from the hat in front plus two different colors of Red Heart. I made that hat at 45 stitches to accommodate a larger head.

I was bad yesterday and picked up a couple of skeins of Manos (in reds to counteract the vast quantities of blue knitting I have done) for a Ken hat. I only have 2 colors, so I might be bad and buy another skein (if I can remember the types of colors other than reds) after getting my Aveeno. My tattoo is very sensitive right now.

My first Dulaan!

Sunday night I finished a hat for the Dulaan project. I like making hats. They are relatively quick, can be quite attractive, and are not that hard to do. I really don't like double pointed needles. I find starting something with them difficult (note the lack of mittens and socks). So, it is a nice thing to be able to use the dpns I have. Thus hats. I can usually start a hat on circulars, but eventually I really need to finish the hat with the dpns, which is pretty easy with all of the fabric beneath.

I finished a copy of the Umbilical Hat from Stitch and Bitch (by Deb Stoller) Sunday night. I used some leftover Wool Ease, and I probably going to line it with something soft and warm before sending it on. The knitting part is definitely done though!
