Well, more like day 3 of actual work on it.
Capturing these colors is pretty hard. Suffice to say that the main color isn't black, but a nice rich navy and that the leaves are an amazing almost neon blue and green.
One of my friends after seeing the melon leaf (from leftovers from knitting Sweetly Worn last year) said I should only do the one leaf in that color. Part of me really wanted to use the color up. I don't have much. At the same time I am sure I don't have the yarn in the color to make 4 more leaves.
That said I'm at about 12 leaves, by numbers I'm about halfway done. However the rows are getting longer and this is assymetrical, so we know how that goes.
Last night's work on this included weaving in all of the ends (so all except the last leaf). It was a great idea. Most people probably cringe at the idea of weaving 62 ends all at once.
Despite NBC, I'm enjoying the Olympics. For Beijing I feel like I got to watch a wider range of events, so the coverage feels very limiting. I wonder if I will feel differently next week when the racing goes from swimming and cycling to running. Possibly not. My twitter feed is full of people who either are complaining about the coverage or who have decided to join the BBC for coverage. Me? I'm with the people who would happily pay $50 (or so) for the two weeks to be able to go online and stream any events they wanted to see to their computers or television. No editing, just pure sports.
