This sounds like fun, and I make lists all the time (the few people that read this blog should be grateful that my writing isn't all lists and knitting math of the non-knit stitch variety).
This week's theme is 10 Things You Love Talking About. I'm not sure how creative I can be, but here goes...
- Music. Specifically singing. I might not know much about it, but I love it. I am singing Tenor in the latest MIT G&S production (and need to find a bass part, so I can complete the set) and it is a lot of fun to not be a girly girl in the show (and thus not need a mountain of tattoo cover).
- Tattoos. I love my back piece even if it doesn't get a lot of air time. I'm often thinking about what I'd like to get done, but I am realistic enough to know that I will probably not get any more tattoo for quite some time. If for no other reason than I like to donate blood, and well, tattooing kind of puts a damper on that.
- Walking and Running. I'm horribly inconsistent with my training, which means I'm in the same position as when I ran my first half marathon. I wish I was more consistent, but it doesn't bother me too much. I have signed up for a race in December and another in March. Maybe that will be the motivation I need, but realistically probably not.
- Everything Japanese. I love the language (which I started learning in 1992) and love pretty much everything except, well, the food. I want to go to Japan sometime and photograph vending machines and temples and cherry blossoms.
- Ice Cream. It is a specific class of food that I make a lot of. 2008 has been a little shy on quantity, which is too bad. Homemade ice cream is a lot better than store bought. I eat ice cream almost every day.
- In other food items, Baking. I go in phases, but I love making sweets. Lately it has been a little bit of everything as friend's have thrown convenient parties, allowing me to make stuff without the mess of throwing the party myself.
- Knitting. It had to be on the list. I am always thinking and planning for the next project, which is bad when I decide it is OK to buy yarn for the project that yesterday was going to be the next one but today will be the one after the next one. Whoops.
- My job. I am really lucky in that I work at a great place doing work that is the perfect combination of everyday and creative. There is always something new and exciting to do for when I have a lot of energy. When I'm tired, there are always projects that don't require me to be quite so focused.
- Au Chocolat. Ed runs my favorite chocolate shop, where I often work over Valentine's Day. He has a great selection, is always getting new stuff in, and is a fun guy to talk to (even though he loves to push people's buttons).
- Musicals. Most of the singing I do is for Gilbert & Sullivan, but I like most musicals (or at least most modern musicals). My favorites are Rent, Chicago, Sweeney and Into the Woods for the non-G&S stuff, and I don't care which parts I sing or how good I sound while doing it.
Now I've already voted for the day, gotten to the office and started the day. I have rehearsal tonight (and tomorrow and Saturday... whoo busy!), and hopefully it will go smoothly!
