Across the globe wonderful socks are being knit! I love that I have 'met' (can it really be meeting if you are different countries) so many interesting people through commenting on their journals. So, today is dedicated to the Sockapalooza peeps who are not in the United States!
I started sending email back and forth (and for the life of me, I can't remember how I got started) with Amanda over at i heart knitting. She has decided to join the Embossed Leaves group (I almost said crowd, but it isn't - not compared to Monkey!). While she doesn't have any pictures up of the Embossed Leaves, she does have a terrific picture of the Baudelaire's she just finished.
Bronte of Confessions of a Graveyard Gypsy is in England (I'm jealous!), is taking a bit of a break from her Sock Savior socks. Everyone should take a gander of the Diagonal Cross-Rib socks she finished for her sock pal. They are gorgeous! I really need to knit a pair of those. Her contrasting toes and heels work wonderfully with her main yarn.
Karen (of Lykke og lokker) finished her pal's socks a bit over a week ago. She has so many beautiful knits! I especially want to knit this cardigan! She writes in Danish and English, but beautiful knitting needs no language and her knitting is pretty spectacular.
Everyone's probably been looking at these amazing fairisle socks (her handle on the Pligg is Grauwal)! I love how well each sock relates to the other without being a traditional pair. She is using a Turkish afterthought heel. I've never seen it before, so I'm going to have to do some research. I haven't tried fairisle yet, so her socks look even more impressive (I'm still trying to decide if doing some fairisle would make these socks look even more impressive or something I could contemplate doing someday - if that makes any sense).
Roobeedoo is making a pair of Rainbow socks. They are pretty spiffy. Of course, I love all the stranded (and mosaic) knitting, because it is something I just don't do! Not that I don't also love the lace and cables, but I will make those!
And more collective nouns...
Today in the Stanley Cup Finals, we have the Senators and the Ducks. One of the announcers referred to the fighting as a jostling of players. That just sounds like the perfect collective noun for a group of hockey players.
As for sock knitters, today it feels like a Pligg of sock knitters.
