My husband and I watched Ran last night. It has been ages since I have seen even part of this movie, and I had forgotten how psychological it is. It shouldn't be a surprise though, because it is based on King Lear. Because it is hard to do lace in the dark, I worked on the scarf I'm making out of the strange Patons yarn I was given for Christmas (it is a bulky with lots of eyelash - I couldn't remember my pattern for a while, and you can only tell by feel that it is different).
Ran is a long movie, so I got a fair amount done. One or two more movies from the Kurosawa collection and I will be done with another scarf for charity. I need to go into my stash and pull out another project or two for charity knitting. It's not like I don't have yarn in there saying "knit me! no, knit me!"
In Sockapaloooza news:
I almost did a little jig this morning! I got mail from my sock pal! I have a couple (more) measurements, and now I am just waiting for yarn. I need to dive into my sock yarn stash. I have some yarn coming from The Loopy Ewe (which makes me ecstatic), but I have four ideas that I need to try out. Four ideas means going into the stash for 2 more sock yarns!
I just want to dance around like an energetic little fool, because it was so nice to be able to cross a pattern or two off of the list.
In other (other) news:
I actually posted my "about" page in my sidebar, though I might call it something else later! The entire page was created using a program I put together, pictures my husband and I took (mostly him, I'm bad with a camera), and text files. I'll probably update it once a week, because I'm proud of it. Every time I look at it, I point and go I made that! It's like the first time I finished something bigger than a scarf. I'm just proud and want to bring it to everyone and say admire my little page. I couldn't be prouder if I had coded the page in raw HTML (which I nearly did to make it easier to figure out where I needed to put things in the code).
