I have been waiting for the past couple of weeks (well, months really) for the next Sockapalooooza run. I had a lot of fun last time even though you'd never be able to tell. At the time, I a) didn't post frequently, and b) really had even more trouble with photos than I do now. My lack of communication didn't mean that I didn't make socks and get them out on time. I loved it.
Of course, I don't normally make fancy socks for myself. I have gorgeous yarns and can make pretty socks for myself, but generally just don't. Sockapalooooza is just a great opportunity to make terrific socks for someone who will really appreciate them.
Socks I'd like to make:
- Baudelaire from the Summer 2006 Knitty;
- Clessidra from the Spring 2007 Knitty;
- Over the Knee socks from Handknit Holidays (this was the quickest picture I could find);
- Beaded Shamrock socks from Heartstrings Fiber Arts;
- Beaded Swirls socks from Heartstrings;
- Rhiannon by Cookie A. (or her German or Twisted Flower socks);
- or Bakerloo from the July 2006 Magknits.
Aren't they all gorgeous? Obviously I want to knit a complicated sock. Something that will take most of the 3-4 months of the knitalong. I have yarn appropriate for the Beaded Swirls and possibly Bakerloo, but everything else would involve new yarn (especially Rhiannon at 5-8 skeins of yarn), which would be fun to select. While I'm waiting for signups, I'm going to finish my simple stockinette socks and charity socks. Always good to get them off my plate, so there will be room for more socks later.
