Now that the month is a third of the way over, I have a goal for the month. It's generically to finish things, and more specifically to not start a new project this month. I have a gazillion pairs of socks to work on, including socks I worked on more than two years ago. Heck, some of these socks are from before the start (or at least when I joined) of Ravelry. Old projects that keep sitting in a pile, dismissed because I don't love the yarn or because I really don't want to make the afterthought heels or some other insignificant reason. It's not just socks either. I still have a tank top that just needs straps. Hardly a reason for it to languish.
For this effort to succeed, a List (a list, a list!):
Socks
- The Opal socks from forever ago. Sock 1 needs kitchener. Sock 2 needs everything.
- The striped socks with the afterthought heel. Finish socks and then do afterthought heels.
- The potamus socks are about 1/3 of the way done. I started them when going to Indiana for a wedding more than a year ago. 'Nuff said.
- Gift socks with pretty socks. So pretty!
- Embossed Leaves. I finally got around to doing the Embossed Leaves pattern and am on the gusset of sock 1.
There might be more socks, but those are the ones I can remember.
I also have a tank top needing straps, two scarves needing ends woven in and blocking, a sweater that I'm on the back (Knitting Olympics), and my oldest "sweater" needs to either be ripped or sewn together. It is from when I was much larger, and it is knit in wool that is a bit scratchy. I always love to start projects, but apparently finishing is not my forte.
Does anyone else have dozens of projects? I know I cannot be the only one, but it would be nice to hear a shout out. Camaraderie and safety in numbers for all!
