Glorious matcha sweets were something I first found when I was studying Japanese (first at Harvard Summer School and later at Wellesley), but the first recipes I saw were on Mariko's blog. Matcha short bread cookies were pretty good, but my matcha supply was pretty bad. They were still tasty, but nothing like the real thing.
And now there are these: Mini Matcha Whoopie Pies from I Dream of Dessert. Now I know it is time to get real matcha powder. There are just too many really good matcha sweets to make to suffer from inferior tea powder!
